Advertising Disclosure
Reading costs nothing. Advertising pays for it.
What runs here
Pages may carry advertising served by Google AdSense. Google selects and delivers those ads, not us. Every slot is labelled and styled deliberately unlike the guides themselves — square, neutral, no accent colour — so an ad cannot be mistaken for a troubleshooting step.
What advertising does not touch
- Which symptoms get written up
- What a guide concludes is the likely cause
- Whether we say a repair is not worth doing
- Whether a brand is named, praised or criticised
No advertiser sees content before publication, and nobody can pay to appear in a guide or to be taken out of one.
Placement rules we hold ourselves to
Never inside a numbered list of checks. Never inside a causes table. Never above the heading of the page you came to read. Never styled to resemble a link to more guidance. Short guides get fewer ads than long ones, because slot count follows the length of the article rather than the other way round.
Every guide is fully usable with an ad blocker running. If that ever stops being true, the design is wrong.
Affiliate links
There are none. We earn nothing from parts, tools or repair bookings, which is what lets a guide end with "replace the machine instead". If that changes, this page changes first and the relationship gets disclosed on every page it touches.
